2. Day 3 Ovarian Reserve Labs
‘Day 3’ labs or blood draws are done on your third day of your menstrual cycle. This is done to look at certain hormones that help determine ovarian reserve, and are an indirect measure of the quantity or quality of eggs remaining in your ovaries. If you order through Pelex, we will appropriately time your ‘Day 3’ and make sure you have your lab order.

4. PCOS Workup
Who is this for?
This is for women who have irregular menstrual cycles, or problems with acne and/or increased face/body hair.

5. Genetic Carrier Screening
These screenings can help detect if a couple is at risk for having a baby with a specific inherited disorder. These tests can be completed at home with a home testing kit or at a local lab with a physician’s order. Pelex can verify eligibility and coverage for these types of tests.
6. Pelvic Ultrasound
Who is this for?
For women in these circumstances
- undergoing initial or interval fertility evaluation, to assess pelvic anatomy (uterus, tubes, ovaries)
- to follow up on previous findings (e.g. ovarian cyst or fibroids)
- ovarian reserve testing to obtain an Antral Follicle Count (AFC)
Where can I get testing done?
These tests can only be performed at a doctors office or outpatient radiology center with a physician order. Dr. Wolff will review the results with you during a Fertility Consultation.
7. Hysterosalpingogram
This is a radiology procedure, where contrast dye is used to fill the uterus via a catheter placed through the cervix and x-rays are taken of the uterus and tubes. This test primarily checks to see if the fallopian tubes are open (or patent). It can also be used to detect small fibroids or polyps in the uterine cavity.
Who is this for?
This test is for women undergoing a fertility workup or prior to taking ovulation medicine (e.g. Clomid or Letrozole) or planning to undergo intrauterine insemination (IUI).
Where can I get testing done?
It is performed at radiology outpatient testing centers or infertility centers with a physician’s order.
8. Preconception Labs
Who is this for?
This test is for any woman considering becoming pregnant in the next year.
